Who are LSC?

Leeds Screening Centre (LSC) opened in February 2003.

The collaboration of Leeds Ultrasound Screening Service and Genome provides the public and GP’s with a direct access, one-stop facility to a comprehensive range of ultrasound scans and screening services.

All tests carried out by fully qualified specialists with a flexible appointment system to suit today's busy lifestyle.

What services are offered?

Antenatal screening for Down's syndrome using the most accurate combinations of ultrasound and blood testing.
Antenatal and pre-pregnancy screening for genetic disorders: fragile X (FXS), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), cystic fibrosis (CF) and Alef 8 (for Ashkenazi Jews only).
Pregnancy Ultrasound scanning at different stages of pregnancy for estimating gestational age, twins, structural anomalies, gender, fetal well-being and bonding.
Diagnostic Ultrasound for abdominal, small parts, musculoskeletal and vascular problems.

Opening hours

Centre hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm (evening session Wednesday until 8pm) & Saturday 9am - 1pm.

Out of hours appointments are by prior arrangement.

LSC is on the outskirts of Leeds City centre, in a quiet business park just off the A61 Leeds-Harrogate Road and has dedicated reserved visitor parking outside the building.
