Leeds Screening Centre (LSC) opened in February 2003. 

The collaboration of Leeds Ultrasound Screening Service and Genome provides the public with a direct access, one-stop facility to a range of screening, ultrasound and non pregnancy services.

• Antenatal screening for Down's syndrome using the most accurate combinations of ultrasound and blood testing.
   
• Antenatal and pre-pregnancy screening for genetic disorders: fragile X (FXS), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), cystic fibrosis (CF) and Alef 8 (for Ashkenazi Jews only).
   
• Ultrasound scanning at different stages of pregnancy for estimating gestational age,  twins, structural anomalies, gender, fetal well-being and bonding.
   
• Non-pregnancy testing in preparation for IVF.
